My name is Megan Atkinson, and I am a new makeup artist!

I am a graduate of the cosmetics program at Durham College and am getting ready to start my journey in the makeup industry. My love for makeup had started very young, as I had played with cheap makeup products gifted from my Aunt and Mom. I was always making a mess with the products and the makeup case itself. I had started painting my face to recreate characters from Monster High by the age of 10, mixing makeup products like foundations and eyeshadows to get the right skin color of the monster dolls. But my true love for the industry had started after I watched the behind scenes of Alice in Wonderland and saw Johnny Depp and Helena Botham Carter transform into the Mad Hatter and Red Queen. I think I had watched the makeup applications to that movie about ten times in the year I had gotten the blue-ray copy.

As I had entered my adult years, I realized that my love for makeup had grown into almost an obsession with products and a love for character development and movie makeup. I had decided that cosmetics was my passion in life and had begun practicing special effects, illusion, and beauty makeup in and out of my time in school.

I am excited to introduce you to my portfolio and the evolution of my work as a makeup artist as I continue to grow in the makeup world.
